Inuit art
We have a wide selection of Inuit sculpture, graphics and textiles. Spring brings the birds back outdoors, and we have a number of their counterparts in the gallery. Three classic falcons from three communities are featured below: from left to right, falcons by Charlie Ugyuk (Gjoa Haven), Osuitok Ipeelie (Cape Dorset), and Paul Kavik (Sanikiluak).
We mourn Kenojuak Ashevak's recent death, but we are pleased to have a number of her works, spanning her long career, in the gallery.

Northwest Coast art
The gallery has a number of model totem poles, in a variety of styles and materials, including an exquisite 19th century Tlingit carved and painted wood pole (pictured with details to the right), turn-of-the-century argillite poles, a large Charlie James pole, and a dynamic 1940s carved and painted wood pole.

About Us
Alaska on Madison is a gallery of indigenous art of Alaska and Canada run by collectors for collectors. We feature Inuit art of the twentieth century Canadian Arctic, two-thousand-year-old objects from the Old Bering Sea cultures, and nineteenth century art from the Northwest Coast peoples and Yup'ik Eskimos. Our collection ranges from museum-quality works to more modest but still excellent works for private collectors, whether novice or sophisticated.
Open Tuesday - Saturday 1:00 - 6:30 pm.
