Inuit art
We have a wide selection of Inuit sculpture, graphics and textiles. Spring brings the birds back outdoors, and we have a number of their counterparts in the gallery. �Three classic falcons from three communities are featured below: from left to right, falcons by Charlie Ugyuk (Gjoa Haven), Osuitok Ipeelie (Cape Dorset), and Paul Kavik (Sanikiluak).�

We mourn Kenojuak Ashevak's recent death, but we are pleased to have a number of her works, spanning her long career, in the gallery.�

Northwest Coast art�

The gallery has a number of model totem poles, in a variety of styles and materials, including an exquisite 19th century Tlingit carved and painted wood pole (pictured with details to the right), turn-of-the-century argillite poles, a large Charlie James pole, and a dynamic 1940s carved and painted wood pole.

Coming attractions
We are planning to have more in-gallery and online topical exhibitions, which will be announced through our newsletter. �

We are looking forward to the 2013 Cape Dorset Annual Print Release in October.

This winter, we will offer Views from the North: Drawings from Cape Dorset.�
About Us

Alaska on Madison is a gallery of indigenous art of Alaska and Canada run by collectors for collectors. �We feature Inuit art of the twentieth century Canadian Arctic,� two-thousand-year-old objects from the Old Bering Sea cultures, and� nineteenth century art from the Northwest Coast peoples and Yup'ik Eskimos.� Our collection ranges from museum-quality works to more modest but still excellent works for private collectors, whether novice� or sophisticated.�
